Happy Chinese New Year

This is a piece I just finished for a group show at Nickelodeon. The theme is Chinese New Year. This one is completely digital but I'm working on a traditional one too.

Eleanore

Here is one of the other characters from my new comic. Her name is Eleanore. She works the grave yard shift at the local mortuary putting make up on the recently deceased. Nothing is definite though. I'm still working out the details.

Belmont's cribby crib

Here is the house where Belomont lives. For those of you who don't know who Belmont is, he's my latest comic creation. I had a mental breakthrough yesterday and managed to work out some of the ideas for Belmont's universe. Thus his brownstone. He lives on the top floor of the middle house the one with the rain gutter coming down the front.

A little salt goes a long way.

This started as just a drawing of a salt shaker that I did in my sketchbook while eating at In & out. I then decided to add the snail and the caption as a funny after thought.

Studio Cribs

Welcome to my studio crib. No Cristal(sp?) here just Starbucks and lots of books and way too much clutter. I recently had to pack everything up because we want to move and needed to clear the room for prospective buyers. That and the fact that if we ever had an earthquake I'd be burried alive.

A sketch a day keeps...it keeps...i've got nothing! Sorry.

Here is another page of sketches. These were done during lunch at various mexican restaraunts in the Burbank area. I'm a big fan of the mexican food. I could pretty much eat it every day. Mmmmmm!

A head is a terrible thing to waste!

I recently started drawing in my sketchbook again. When I first started working in the Animation industry I carried my sketchbook every where and drew constantly. After a few years I carried it less and less. Now thanks to the pestering of my co-worker Aaron I've started to draw in it again. Thanks Aaron!

Mermaddie

My daughter Madelyn is turning four on Sunday. She's having a little mermaid themed party. So I decided to draw her as a mermaid or as I call it Mermaddie.

Miner Miner

Here is the finished Miner piece for the Virgin show which starts next Friday the 27th. It's pen and ink with watercolor.

Miner sketch

This is a piece I'm working on for an upcoming gallery show with some friends. The final will be done with pen and ink and watercolors.

5x5 Paintings

Here are two examples of the paintings that I've been doing. They're 5 x 5 acrylic on canvas. It's my first foray into the wide world of painting.

Thurston after dark

This is the prelimanary design for a paper cut out collage that I did. I ended up selling it at the San Diego Comic Con. I framed it in a very cool Gold frame. It was hard to let it go but it went to a good home. I may do one of Martin and Thurston in the near future.
